For 57 years, your Credit Union has worked hard to connect with you, our members, in order to help you achieve your financial dreams. From the first member we served in 1962 to each new member we welcome today, your Credit Union is committed to cultivating your financial success. To do so, we strive to stay on the forefront of innovative technology, providing you secure access to your accounts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

With continual changes in technology, consumer patterns, and with added emphasis on security and privacy, 2018 was a challenging year as we prepared for our largest endeavor in decades.

With a selection and due diligence process beginning almost three years ago, we prepared for what we referred to as our “System Upgrade” project. The core system of a financial institution is the beating heart of our operations. All transactions, member data, and balances reside or pass through this system. Prior to the completion of this upgrade, we were managing at least 18 separate vendors on 24 separate platforms to provide account services, debit cards, credit cards, online banking, bill pay services, etc. while trying to maintain a core system that had been in use for 21 years at Connect CU. Our goal was to find better solutions for our members and consolidate systems to remove compatibility and integration issues. On January 31, we took our first step and migrated to a new core system, which includes a new online banking system, audio response, bill pay, Mobile application with integrated remote check deposit and card control to name a few of the added features.

We are currently working on completing the next steps of the integration, which includes credit cards, adding the Samsung Pay, Google Pay, and Apple Pay functionality to your Connect CU debit and credit cards, and then providing a more robust account aggregation program into online banking. As I noted in my comments last year, we have had to abandon some legacy technologies in favor of allocating resources to making APP banking, near field payments, and other modern technology available to the membership. While the member facing technology such as online banking and bill pay have changed, all of the systems behind the scenes that make online banking work and allow us to process transactions in the branch, clear checks, post electronic transactions for ACH and Debit Cards, process loans, balance the general ledger, collect on delinquent accounts, and even pay our bills, have all changed at the same time. Our entire team has all had to learn these new systems and be able to support our members with their questions, concerns, and occasional frustrations.

On behalf of the Board and Management team, I would like to first thank all of the members for their patience and all of our staff for their hard work and effort during the past few months to make this system upgrade a success.

Our goal has always been and will always be to help all of our members, both current and future, feel like part of the family. Just like our original membership connects lives throughout the State of Florida using roads and bridges to bring people together, your Credit Union wants to connect with all of our members to provide you with the tools and knowledge to achieve your dreams.

Looking forward into 2019, we are working to make sure all members are aware of all the products and services that are available including deposit products, consumer loans, 1st mortgages, and other services as well as providing more online functionality and personalized financial education for our members.

We want to continue to connect with you and be your first choice for all of your financial needs. We are committed to building a strong relationship with you based on trust and provide you with a high level of member service. We want you to feel so confident in us that you will want to refer all your friends and family members to your Credit Union when they need help finding solutions to their individual financial situations.
